Joseph Eckelkamp, born in 1992, is a multi-disciplined creator who is a trained musician, composer, arranger, pipe organ builder, and customer service specialist. He has received commissions from educational institutions across the United States for musical arrangements and original pieces for ensembles of all types. He has performed as a pianist and organist with members of the Marine's Own Chamber Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, jazz luminaries like Arturo Sandoval, Lou Marini, Steve Wiest, John Clayton, Jeff Hamilton, and John Pizzarelli among others. His classical playing has taken him to perform music throughout the Midwest as a collaborative pianist and soloist. He has worked extensively in theatre and provided custom writing for cabaret performances and show choirs. His work includes decades of work as a liturgical musician and music director for choirs covering music from Gregorian chant to CCM. He has a particular passion for English liturgical music, particularly Victorian/Edwardian hymnody and music for choral evensong.

Beyond his work in music, Joseph has trained as a pipe organ builder under the tutelage of Christopher Soer. His work with Christopher Soer has led to taking an active role in projects from local restorations to large profile projects at the Washington National Cathedral and Salt Lake City Tabernacle. He currently consults on pipe organ projects as a knowledgable mediator between clients and builders, and serves as a fundraising consultant for pipe organ projects across the United States.

Additionally, his experience in negotiating office situations has led to taking active roles in confidential contract negotiations, working to expand a national business, and renewed interest in labor relations.

Looking for new professional and creative outlets, Joseph moved to New York City in February 2025.

When not working, Joseph's other interests include cooking, cycling, photography, writing letters, and anything to do with books (writing, printing, bookbinding, collecting, etc.).
